TAPACOM servers are scanned quarterly to test and report security issues. These tests were recently perfomed on December 27 and 28. During these tests Internet services may temporarily become unavailable.
Information gleaned from these tests are used to improve security and services.
Mahalo for understanding.
Current and new database development under FileMaker Pro will be under version 9.0v3. This is the latest version of the system and the recommendation is that all clients update their version 9 applications to this version to ensure full functionality and compatibility of their databases.
If your database application is running under any previous version of FileMaker Pro then you will not need to do this. Please contact me if you wish to discuss the possibility of moving your database application from an earlier version to version 9x.
FileMaker Pro updaters can be found here > http://www.filemaker.com/support/downloads/

Moved the FileMaker Pro server to a faster machine on the TAPACOM network. Also changed the server configuration so that FMP would be servable under port 80 instead of port 591. Also setup FTP access to the database files.
The listserver at our Kaimuki network center lost connectivity to the Internet from 4:00 am to 8:00 am today. Local telco has restored service. No other TAPACOM services were affected.
TAPACOM’s DNS servers have had intermittent connection losses to the Internet for the past two weeks. This has been resolved by replacing equipment. The failed component was only placed in service September 11, 2007.
DNS connection failures will disrupt web hosting and mail services.
Additionally, TAPACOM has added an additional domain name server which provides service from a remote location. This will improve fail-safe service.
Recent episodes of the DNS server going offline were due to intermittent equipment failures. Made the appropriate equipment replacement. Also arranged for additional remote DNS services to provide better fail-safe coverage.
Over the coming week TAPACOM some hosted web sites may be offline intermittently in preparation and execution of an upgrade of its PHP services. Work will be done during non-primetime periods so that the impact will be as small as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience.
