Web site owners using the WordPress system should upgrade to version 2.6.2 immediately. This important security release adds protection against a SQL Column Truncation hazard and other security issues.
The security risk affects all PHP applications, WordPress included. Particularly vulnerable are those websites allowing open registration. More details about this issue at http://wordpress.org/development/2008/09/wordpress-262/

TAPACOM has instituted a new support program effective this month. The key change is that clients hosting their web sites under the TAPACOM Hoku and Big Kahuna plans are provided one hour of support each month. Support services include web site updates, structural changes, programming, etc.
Wiki Wiki hosted web sites are not included in this support program.

I’ll be conducting a workshop on using WordPress to create and manage web site projects.
The WordPress Boot Camp will show you how new technology tools keep web site development projects within anyone’s means and abilities. And they will help to keep the management of existing web sites less labor intensive.
The workshop is hosted by the Hawaii Macintosh & Apple Users’ Society, Inc.
When: Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Manoa Innovation Center (9:00 AM to 3:30 PM).
Seating is limited, so register early. The first 10 registrants will receive a free WordPress t-shirt (subject to size availability).

Update
All services restored at 10:00 AM this morning.
One of our client’s hosted web sites reported that their form was not working. Troubleshooting discovered that CGI and another server side tool was not configured. In the past it was. There was no indication why this configuration setting suddenly “switched off.” A check of all other sites hosted on the affected server showed no others with the same issue. Monitoring will continue to watch for this problem.
Please report any other similar issues immediately.
