Preparing for PHP upgrade

Over the coming week TAPACOM some hosted web sites may be offline intermittently in preparation and execution of an upgrade of its PHP services. Work will be done during non-primetime periods so that the impact will be as small as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Aggravating potholes …

Technology today depends on different technology providers working in synch with each other. When it doesn’t work well stuff happens. This morning it happened.

There was a change made by one of our network providers and the word didn’t come down in time to make sure there would be no service disruption. In a perfect world there wouldn’t have been any problems.

Anyway, we’re back online now and have learned some lessons on what needs to be strengthened to weather the next perfect storm.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Osiris back up …

The server, Osiris, has been restored to functionality. A corrupted file that was needed by the web server was the cause for the system crash. Changes were made to prevent the same type of problem from reoccuring.

Web server on Osiris down for maintenance …

The web server on one of the machines (Osiris) on the TAPACOM network exhibited some problems early Sunday morning. Work is being done to restore it to functionality. This does not affect web sites hosted on the Hoku server. News will be posted about this as it becomes available.
